Not every tax notice means the same thing.
Before deciding what to do, confirm whether you are looking at a current delinquent tax bill, a tax certificate issue, a tax deed application notice or a scheduled tax deed sale. Florida’s tax-certificate process is distinct from a public tax deed auction, and county practices determine the live dates, amounts and payment methods.
Questions worth answering now
- Which county is handling the property tax record and what does the most recent notice say?
- What is the current amount due, including any interest, fees or costs shown by the county?
- Is there a live tax certificate, tax deed application or scheduled sale date?
- Is keeping the property, resolving an estate issue or evaluating a voluntary sale before a county sale the goal?
For a current payoff figure or deadline, contact the appropriate county Tax Collector or Clerk directly. A general website timeline is never a substitute for the property’s county record.
